Aqua Whisper

Did you miss me? I haven't posted in a while. Well, I was inspired tonight. We are painting our baby's room and I realized that paint swatch colors make great band names. The band name I went with tonight is Aqua Whisper.

I found this image on Flickr. I thought it fit the aqua theme. And I named the album "Breathe" based on the photo I used.

I assume that Aqua Whisper would sound a lot like Broken Bells.

Jim Claseros

I was driving, in my car, with my wife the other day when "Stereo Hearts" came on the radio. My wife asked me who sang this song. I replied "Gym Class Heroes." She said "Who?" To which I again replied with "Gym Class Heroes." She said, "Who's Jim Claseros?" Like I was saying some guy's name. I guess I was speaking too fast or mumbling because I thought this was a pretty easy name to understand. Nevertheless, a Mr. Jim Claseros was born that day.

Since this was a case of Mistaken Identity, I decided to name the album that. I then scoured the inter-webs for a photo that was kind of weird and could be an artsy representation of that concept. I found this image on Flickr. It's a cool image. I hope you agree. If not...whatever.

What kind of music would Jim Claseros make? Maybe Jim Claseros would sound like Gym Class Heroes? But based on the imagery, which I now find creepy, I'm thinking maybe something more like THIS!

Señor Machine Man

Once again, Conan O'Brien has inspired me. I love when they play their fake version of Name That Tune. Nevertheless, they were doing a parody of Mr. Roboto by Styx but they called it Señor Machine Man. It was pretty funny.

So, I found this image on Flickr. I added the band name and album title, Zip-Zop. The title was part of the lyrics that they sang on Conan.

I assume Señor Machine Man would be an electronic band. They would possibly sound like Fluke orApollo 440.

Dustin and Justin

This may sound strange but, I have a running joke with my mom about how I was supposed to be twins. I named my fake twin Justin. So, I have weird things happen in my life that lead me to believe that this isn't too far from the truth. Like having two sets of wisdom teeth. The dentist called this "very rare." Guess those are Justin's. I have other examples but I won't bore you with them.

So I thought, what if Justin and I started a band called Dustin & Justin (of course my name comes first because I'm real and he was never born). I am naming this album "Gemini" since I am a Gemini, and that would make Justin a Gemini as well. Which is kind of strange because the Gemini zodiac sign is usually represented by twins.

I searched for images on Flickr and found this fun image of two boys riding a velocipede. I didn't do anything to the image. It was perfect the way it was. All I did was crop it, add the title and the band name.

I imagine Dustin & Justin would sound a bit like Sister Hazel.

Cross-Promotion of Blogs

If you regularly read one of my blogs, I thought you might be interested in my others. Here are the three blogs that I try to update from time to time. Enjoy!

Today's Greatest Song Ever
Basically, I love music...all kinds of music. So when I hear a song, or remember an old track that I love, I post it on this blog and try to add some sort of description as to why I think it's possibly the greatest song ever.

My Sawdust
This is just my random blog. I may post something political, sports related, or some music video. It really doesn't matter. It's my place to sound off about anything.

My New Band Name
I've always wanted to be in a band. So, whenever I think of a funny, clever, or just a really good name for a band, I find an image and make an album cover. I try to discuss who this new band is and what kind of music they will play. This is basically another creative outlet for me.

Red Cell

It has been dry and hot for weeks here. Then a couple days ago I heard thunder and the sound of rain approaching. I pulled out my phone and looked up the radar. All I saw was just one small red cell that was coming toward my side of town. Which made me think, that would be a cool band name, Red Cell.

So, naturally I got on Flickr and looked up storm images. I found several and did several options, but in the end, this is the one that won out. It was originally a purple image. I turned it red. I wanted to keep the storm theme going, so I titled the album Squall Line.

What kind of music would Red Cell play? I imagine some kinds of metal. Maybe something like Fear Factory or Nonpoint.

Everyday Puppets

So, I was bored tonight. I came up with a name for a band randomly and for some reason Everyday Puppets came to my mind. So here you have it, the album cover for Everyday Puppets.

I found an image on Flickr and thought it fit perfectly. Originally this photo was black and white. I cropped it to the size I needed, added the color and added the text. The album title "in sheep's clothing" seemed to fit the image on the cover.

Yes, I realize this cover is creepy. I can't decide what kind of music Everyday Puppets plays. I imagine it's some sort of rock. Maybe they would sound a little something like THIS! (you're welcome)
